Basic white cake Frost as desired 3/4 cup butter 1 3/4 cup sugar 6 egg whites 1 cup milk 2 1/2 cups flour 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla extract ( optional ) Have ingredients at room temperature. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix flour and baking powder. Add alternately to creamed mixture with milk and vanilla. Stir in unbeaten whites, blending mixture well.Transfer into oblong pan and bake 350 till tested done, about 35 to 45 minutes. Joan,"Flour Power"
