USA >Cheese Stuffed Shells 1 lb bulk Italian sausage 1 large onion chopped 1 package of frozen spinach cooked and well drained 1 package cream cheese softened ( 8 oz.) 1 egg beaten 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 cup cottage cheese 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese 1/4 tea salt and pepper 1/8 tea ground cinnamon (optional) 20 jumbo shell noodles cooked and drained Basic marinara sauce of choice: add 1/4 cup white wine, 1/2 tea of dried basil 1/4 tea. minced garlic for richer flavor. In skillet brown sausage crumbled and onion. Transfer to large bowl. Add in spinach, cream cheese and egg. Add 1 cup mozzarella, cheddar and cottage cheese, along with parmesan. add seasonings. Mix well. Stuff cooked shells, arrange in 13 x 9 in baking dish. Spoon sauce over shells. Reserve some sauce for serving. Cover and bake 40 minutes. Uncover sprinkle with remaining mozzarella for 5 - 8 minutes until cheese melts 8 -10 servings

Cheese Stuffed Shells

1 lb bulk
Italian sausage
1 large

I took this recipe to our International Dinner at the Woman's Club and got many comments from the members. I used pork sauage instead of Italian, left out the cinnamon and it turned out well. There was no over temperature mentioned in the recipe, so I us

I just wanted to say that I tried this tonight and it turned out very well. I notice that Marina makes no mention of the oven temperature at which the shells bake for 40 minutes. I tried 325F and it was just fine. Watch out! The aroma is tremendous (i
