elegant almond tart (8 servings) Place 1 cup flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 cup butter, frozen and cut into pieces, 1 tablespoon cold water and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla in food processor bowl. Process on pulse until mixture forms ball. Press into 9-inch tart pan, making sure there are no holes or tears. Chill. Line tart shell with foil and fill with pie weights or rice. Bake on lowest oven shelf at 400 degrees F for 8 minutes. Remove foil and bake 3-4 minutes or until pastry is set. Cool. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup whipping cream, 1 teaspoon grated orange peel, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon almond extract. Stir in 1 cup sliced almonds, then let stand 15 minutes. Pour into cooled shell. Bake at 400 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Cool.
