from CA, US Shortcake Dough: 2 cups flour 2 tablespoons sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons shortening 2/3 to 3/4 cup milk Combine dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add enough milk to make a soft dough. Pat out into a 6 x 12-inch oblong. Syrup Mixture: 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 cups water Combine water and sugar in saucepan. Cook 5 minutes. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Fruit Mixture: 3 cups cut-up fruit 1 tablespoon butter 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Spread fruit over 6 x 12-inch oblong of shortcake dough. Dot with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll up and seal. Lay entire roll into sryup in cake pan. Bake immediately at 450 degrees F for 20 to 30 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream. Variations: Strawberry-Rhubarb 2 cups cut-up rhubarb 1 cup cut-up strawberries Fresh Cherry Roll Follow above recipe using sweet cherries instead.

Combine

This is a lovely recipe, I thoroughly reccomend it to everyone who wants to eat some fruit thats in a blanket. I fed it too my 2 month old baby and he loved it!!
