Serves 4 Ingredients 1 lb. linguine 2 Tbsp olive oil 4 cloves garlic, chopped 1 Tbsp thyme 2 tsp red pepper flakes 1, 15 oz. can chopped clam with broth set aside Optional green olives or capers Boil a 2 quarts of water and add some of the clam broth to flavor the pasta. Drop the linguine in the pot of boiling water and cook to al dente. Reserve some of the pasta water for the sauce and do not rinse the linguine after straining. Heat the olive oil in a large and deep pan and then add the garlic, thyme and pepper flakes. Saute for a minute or so and then add the clam and the rest of its broth to the pan. Stir the ingredients to integrate the flavors and at this point, add the olives or capers, if you choose. Pour the mostly-cooked pasta into the pan and mix well with the other ingredients. Let sit for a few minutes so that the pasta and finish cooking and then serve.
