Tomato Bruschetta Toasts A delicious, easy to prepare, summertime hors d'oeuvres. Makes about 18 bruschetta. 1 French bread baguette 1/2 can San Marzano tomatoes 1 Bermuda onion 1/4 cup pure, extra virgin olive oil 1/2 bunch fresh basil salt and pepper to taste 1. Slice baguette on a bias in 1" thick slices. 2. Toast slices on a cookie sheet in a preheated 350 degree oven, turning once, until brown on both sides. 3. Finely chop the tomatoes, onion, and basil. 4. Combine tomatoes, onion, and basil with olive oil in a mixing bowl. 5. Add salt and pepper if desired. 6. Spoon well combined mixture onto toasts. 7.
