A Japanese Christmas
Tori-no-kara-age
12 chicken legs
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup flour
Vegetable oil for frying

Makes 4 servings.

Put salt and garlic powder on chicken legs and leave them for 10 mins in a bowl.
Put milk on the chicken.
Spread flour on dried chicken legs.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350 degrees and fry the chicken legs for 10 min.

Fried Potato
4 potato
1/2 salt
1/4 pepper
1 egg
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup breadcrumb
Vegetable oil for frying

Wash and cut the potatoes into bite-sized pieces.
Wrap the potato pieces in a plastic wrapper and heat in the microwave to soften them.
Unwrap the potato and peel the skin.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Spread flour over the potato chucks.
Dip the potato into whisked egg.
Spread breadcrumbs on the potato pieces.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 400 degrees and fry the potatoes for one minute.

Fried Wonton
16 wonton skins
4 blocks processed cheese
Vegetable oil
Makes 4 servings.

Cut a block of cheese into four.
Place a piece of cheese in the center of a wonton skin.
Roll the wonton skin to wrap the cheese
Twist both sides to make a ribbon shape.
Heat the oil to 400 degrees and fry the wonton until golden

Christmas Cake
For sponge cake:
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
3 eggs
1 1/2 tbsp cup butter

For whipping cream:
2 cups heavy cream
4 tbsps sugar
16 pieces whole strawberry

Makes 4 servings.

Spread some batter inside of a round cake pan and place baking wax paper. (*8 inches round pan.)
Put eggs and sugar in a bowl and whisk very well.
Place the bowl over hot water in another large bowl and whist further.
When the egg mixture becomes white, shift flour and baking powder together and add to the bowl.
Add melted butter in the bowl and mix gently.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Pour the batter in the pan and bake in the preheated oven for 25-35 min.
Remove the cake from the pan and cool it on a rack.
Cut the cake in half horizontally.
Mix heavy cream and sugar in a bowl.
Whip the cream well.
Slice 8 pieces of strawberries into thin pieces.
Take the half of the whipped cream and mix the sliced strawberries.
Place the cream on top of a round cake slice.
Place another cake slice on top of the cream.
Spread the rest of the whipped cream on top and around the cake.
Decorate the cake with 8 pieces of strawberries.
