This recipe was given to me by my husbands grandmother and it is so good!! NANA'S APPLE CAKE 4 cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon 2 tsp allspice 2 tsp nutmeg 2 tsp ground cloves 4 eggs (3 if very large) 2 cups sugar 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1 cup chopped pecans (optional) 8 cups finely chopped apples (I use granny smith or roma apples) 3 tbs vanilla Sift together all the dry ingredients. In seperate bowl blend the eggs, sugar, vanilla and oil. Add the sifted dry ingredients to the egg mixture. The batter will be very stiff. Stir in the nuts and apples. Pour into a greased and lightly floured loaf pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours in a 325 degree oven. Let the cake cool before removing it from the pan. Cover cake to keep moist. Julie Michigan, USA

Awesome but I halfed the recipe and it filled a loaf pan. I think this is a 9 by 13 recipe.
